Setting up Outlook Express

This is a tutorial that will assist you in setting up Microsoft Outlook Express to work with our e-mail servers. This tutorial is based on Microsoft Outlook Express v6.0, however, the settings will remain the same for different versions.

Step 1

Open Outlook Express, click 'Tools / Accounts...'

Step 2

Click on 'Add / Mail...'

Step 3

Type a Display Name (i.e. Your Firstname and Surname), then click 'Next >'

Step 4

Type in your new E-Mail Address and click 'Next >'

Step 5

Enter your POP3 and SMTP Server (pop.yourdomain.co.za, smtp.yourdomain.co.za)

Step 6

Enter your E-Mail address as your Username, your password and click 'Next >' then 'Finish'

Step 7

Select your E-Mail Account and click on 'Properties'

Step 8

Click 'Servers' and enable 'My Outgoing SMTP Server requires Authentication

Step 9

Click 'Advanced' and change the Outgoing Server port from 25 to 587

Step 10

Click 'OK' then click 'Close'
